Pffff weer iets nieuws ontdekt dat ik heel graag wil....

Een tijdje geleden alweer bij een vriendin gezien, Mola's.

Ook zij was erdoor gegrepen en is deze dan ook gaan maken met een heel mooi resultaat kan ik je vertellen. Complimenten nog Floor!!!!

Maar goed, haar onlangs weer ontmoet en toen had ze een Mola tasje bij zich, ook zelf gemaakt.

Dus ik natuurlijk weer helemaal enthousiast. En ja ik vind appliqueren nou eenmaal erg leuk om te doen dus..........

Op zoek op het internet naar site's en boekjes over dit onderwerp.

Uiteindelijk 3 boekjes hierover gescoord en een keuze voor een 1e werkje gevonden in het boek op de foto. In mijn stofjeskast had ik nog een stapeltje bijna effen katoentjes, ooit zelf geverfd tijdens een workshop. Helemaal geschikt om het eens uit te gaan proberen.

Gauw meer over mijn eerste resultaten !!!

Ik heb mijn Candle mat SWAP ontvangen

Vorige week heb ik ook de Candle Mat SWAP ontvangen, helemaal vanuit Nieuw Zeeland.

Ik ben erg blij met het quiltje, de kleuren zijn gezellig en het is erg netjes gemaakt.

Ook zaten er nog 3 kadootjes bij, een rolcentimetertje met een kiwi vogel erop. Een rolletje stofjes en een muffin van stofjes. Leuke stofjes, nog wel bedenken wat ik er van wil maken.

Ook het appliqueren gaat verder

Inmiddels is de eerste rand van de Hearts en Flower quilt klaar, er volgen nog meer randen.

Het staat nu even stil met deze quilt, er wordt nu hard gewerkt aan de quilt voor mijn dochter die naar Zweden gaat om te studeren voor 5 maanden. Half januari moet die quilt klaar zijn.

Dus deze even in de (ijs)kast.

Er was er een jarig !

31 oktober ben ik jarig geweest. We hebben een gezellige en drukke zondag gehad met veel bezoek. Van een nichtje ( miriam) kreeg ik een eigen gemaakt en mooi versiert taartje.

Het was eigenlijk zonde om het op te eten, toch maar gedaan met manlief, anders zou het maar bederven. Zonde toch!!!!!!

Candle Mat SWAP

Onlangs heb ik ook weer deelgenomen aan een SWAP. De Candle Mat SWAP.
Op de foto hierboven zie je aan wie ik hem heb gestuurd.

Een detail van het quiltje ( zo'n 30 x 30 cm) Wat pailletjes en kraaltjes.

Het quiltje helemaal klaar. Ik heb er de restjes van mijn kerstkussen en tafelloper van vorig jaar voor gebruikt.

Nog even dit....

Het was natuurlijk weer veel te lang geleden dat ik hier een berichtje had geplaatst.
Ik heb dan ook van diverse lezers reakties gehad. Dus probeer ik het nu maar weer in het Nederlands alleen. Misschien dat dit de reden zou kunnen zijn ??????

T.z.t. wellicht ook weer in het engels.

Mijn atelier is klaar! Geschilderd, behangen en opnieuw ingericht. Alleen nog overgordijnen en wat kleine quiltjes voor aan de muur.

Ik ben er erg blij mee, en ik geniet dan ook enorm van deze ruimte.

En ik ben me er ook heel goed van bewust dat ik enorm bevoorrecht ben met zo´n eigen ruimte.

Hierboven zie je mijn stofjeskast. Een oud kastje waar voorheen mijn handdoeken in lagen, maar nu dus met stofjes. Het is een oud grenen kastje en niet te groot en te hoog. Naast het kastje zie je een deur, deze gaat naar mijn keuken die heel handig naast mijn atelier zit.

Mijn atelier is eigenlijk de opkamer, boven de kelder in ons huis.

Make over of my quilt room

This is a great part off my inventory off quilt and mandala supplies.
I stored it on one side of the room, so I have space the painting. The painting was finifshed on friday october the 15 th.

Hier mijn opgestapelde voorraad spullen van het quilten en mandala tekenen.
Ik heb het allemaal in 1 hoek van de kamer gezet zodat ik ruimte had om te schilderen.
Het schilderwerk is inmiddels helemaal klaar.

Hier zie je de nieuwe kleuren van het schilderwerk. Okergeel en heel zacht lichtgeel

Hierboven de 1e 40 Log cabin blokken. Nog 2 blokjes en ik ben op de helft van de blokken.

Even de blokken uitgelegd. Ben erg blij met deze geweldige kleurrijke blokken.

FABRICS FOR A NEW QUILT

Deze geweldige stofjes heb ik onlangs gekocht bij de quilterij voor een quilt voor mijn dochter.
Ze gaat in januari voor 5 maanden naar Zweden en wil er dan lekker warmpjes bij zitten.
Het wordt een log cabin quilt met een mooie vogeltjes rand erom heen.

Recently I bought those fabrics at the Quilterij, it is for a quilt for my daughter.
She is going to sweden in January for 5 months. She wants to feel comfy under a nice quilt.
The pattern I'm gonna use is Log cabin with a nice birdy fabric border.

Hearts & Flowers

Afgelopen zomer in Juli ben ik begonnen met een prachtige quilt naar een ontwerp van Kim Mc.Lean. Zij maakt bijzonder mooie applicatie quilts met Kaffe Fasset stoffen.Ik kon dit ontwerp gewoon niet weerstaan.

Op de foto het middenblok en 2 details van dit middenblok.

This summer in July, I started with the lovely quilt from a design of Kim Mc.Lean.

She makes delightful applique quilts with Kaffe Fasset febrics. I just couldn't resist this pattern.

On the picture you can see the centre block and two detaild pictures of this centre block.

Finally

vandaag heb ik dan uiteindelijk ook mijn quiltje ontvangen van de mini embroidery quilt SWAP.
De partner die mij was toegewezen voor de SWAP heeft nooit iets gemaakt en opgestuurd.
Om die reden is mij een ANGEL toegewezen, iemand die vrijwillig voor de mensen die niets ontvangen hebben een quiltje maken. Mijn Angel komt uit Australie.
Lief he...... en ik vindt hem ook erg leuk ! Ook kreeg ik er nog een mooie australische kalender bij en een ansichtkaart.

Today I finally recieved my little quilt of the mini embroidery quilt SWAP.
The partner that was assigned to me for the Swap, never made or send the quilt to me.
For that reason there was assigned to me an ANGEL. Someone who voluntarily make this little quilt for someone who hasn't recieved from their partner. My Angel is coming from Australia.
Sweet !! and I like it very much! I also recieved a calander with nice nature pictures of Australia and a postcard.

WELCOME QUILT

Last week I finished the little Welcome quilt from the Quilterij. Every month I made two blocks, one patchwork block and one with some applique and stitchery. The centre block is also with applique and stitchery. By assembling the blocks together I made a mistake. OEPS !!!
The finished size was 25 x 25 cm, and I cut the block back to 24 x 24 cm. OEPS again.
So I made a new centre block. It takes me two evenings to make it, but now it has the right size.
I am verry content with the result of the total top. It is a lovely design!

AND SOME MORE GIFTS

As promised the other gifts from the SWAP from Canada. A magnet for the fridge and some bobbin things, so the thread stays on the bobbin.

And 3 patterns, the christmas design is from Heather herself.

RECIEVED SWAP FROM CANADA

Last week I recieved a little box from my postman from Canada. I was so excited, maybe from my partner of the Needle Case SWAP. And yes when I opened the package I was overwelmed!
Heather from Canada really spoiled my with many gifts and of course a lovely Needle Case.
Above you can see a Stationary set and a mug from Canada.


And also the lovely needle case and and a stash of fabric in one of my favorite fabrics and a
gorgeous package with pattern and fabrics for a little quilt.

She also send me to nice cards, one with a field of patchwork .

Tomorrow I will show you the rest of the gifts I recieved.

And once again HEATHER !! THanks Thanks Thanks, You really spoiled me......

Sorry FORGET TO WRITE IN ENGLISH !

The pictures below are from our first fligth with our daughter on the rudder.
She is studying for pilote on an passenger plain, at the KLM in Eelde.
She is almost finished with het small plains project and then the big thing starts. Flying in a simulator for a boeing 737 at Schiphol.

ONZE 1E VLUCHT MET DOCHTER AAN HET ROER!!

Hierboven een leuke foto van mijn man samen met Judith onze dochter en ikzelf.
Vandaag mogen wij voor het eerst met haar mee vliegen.
Ze volgt de opleiding tot piloot als verkeersvlieger ( dus pasagiers) bij de KLS in Eelde.
Ze is inmiddels bijna aan het einde van haar traject op de kleine toestellen, hier een Baron een 2 motorig toestel.

Hier met z'n vieren ( inclusief instructeur) in het toestel. Allemaal met koptelefoon, zodat we alles goed kunnen volgens tussen Toren en instructeur en Judith.

Een vooraanzicht van het toestel.

Het was een spannende gebeurtenis maar ook zeker een hele bijzondere. Je zit tenslotte niet iedere dag in een vliegtuig met je dochter aan het roer. Ze heeft de vlucht prima gedaan, en duurde ongeveer 1 1/2 uur. We hebben kunnen genieten van het uitzicht rondom Groningen en we hebben zelfs ook nog boven de wolken gevlogen.

Nog ongeveer een week of twee en dan is ze klaar in Eelde en gaat ze naar Schiphol waar het grotere werk gaat beginnen in een simulator van een boeing 737.

Als dit met goed gevolg is afgelegd mag ze zichzelf piloot noemen.

NEEDLE CASE SWAP

Saturday I send my Applique Needle Case for the SWAP tot Brasil.

It was a lot of fun to make this little case. I add some stitchery to the pattern and the inside is also my own idea. With the needle case I send my partner a piece of dutch fabric and some ribbon and a post card of my home town.

Now I have to wait until I recieve my needle case from the SWAP.

Last time I participate the SWAP, I recieved nothing from my partner. Luckily for every Swap you get another partner. So I hope this time I get something.

Welcome quilt

At the store The Quilterij, we are working on a little quilt that's called "Welcome quilt". It is a little quilt that comes by the mysterie of this year "Fabric wonderland".

The blocs are patched and appliqued and stitched. We need to make 4 blocks and one bigger central block.

When it is completed I will show you a picture again.

I love to do the stichery and applique. For me it is so relaxing.

Cute little Japanese camera bag.

At the European Quilt Championship at the beginning of May this year, I bought a nice little package of a little Japanese bag. My photo camera just fit in. I sure love the little Sun Bonnet Sue on the front of the bag.

And don't you love the little cat on the back side.

For the change a Mandala this time

I am not only quilting these last view weeks. I am also preparing the lessons for my next mandala course that I'm giving next fall. This is my version of a Holy Grail card from the beautiful art work that Janosh makes. See at his site

Rozetten quilt top

This is the result off the work in progress from several weeks ago. The top is now finished and need some backing before it's ready to quilt. I'm going to quilt it by machine.
This is not my favorite thing to do, but good to practice this skill.

The result of the latest SWAP

This little quilt I made for the Mini quilt Embroidery SWAP.

The embroidery pattern was for everyone the same. The total lay out off the quilt was my own choice.
A nice little pattern whit lovely flowers and of course a little bee.
This was the total package I sent to my SWAP partner in the USA.

The little quilt, a dutch postcard and a piece of Dutch Tiles fabric and two pieces of ribbon with windmills.

I don't have recieved my little quilt yet, I also don't know who my partner was.

When I recieve it, I will post a picture of it. I'm so curious about it.

An apology is in place,it's to long ago since I posted a message!

I know I know, I can tell you all kinds of reasons, but actually there is none!

So I will try to better my live, starting today.

Little quilt with rosettes

Last friday I bought a little bag with something nice inside at the "Quilterij"

At the phote you can see what was inside.

A Bossche roll , a matching fat quater, 1/2 meter off white fabric, a bobbin of yarn, buttons and the pattern of a lovely little quilt with rosettes.

A nice Japanese box

A couple of weeks ago I made this wonderful Japanese box. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun!!!!

This is the front side.

I already made up what is going inside the box!

Exactly........ my Aurifill yarn.

I used striped and chequered fabrics in Pastel colors and the brown fabrics are original Japanese fabrics.

This is the top of the box.
