Little red hill

Yesterday I promised you to show you a detailed picture of the little red hill on the table runner.Well here they are, a set of three little christmas gnomes, one male gnoom is sitting behind the other two, so you can't see him. I made them a couple off years ago.

It is a design from Pop en Plank from the Netherlands. They are made off home made felt off merino wool and the shoes are made from bee wax.

Another nice project is finished

Also just before Christmas I finished another project.

Three snowy christmas pillows. They look very nice on my couch.

A couple of posts back you saw the pictures of the work in progress.

But now they show off on my couch.
And of course the table runner is also finished, and maybe you ask yourself what is that red little hill at the end of the runner? Well read my blog in a couple of days to see a closer look.

Christmas Angel

Just before Christmas I made a lovely Angel by the design of Tilda. I made her together with 3 quilt friends. We bought two boxes with all the materials an paterns for two dolls. So there were 4 dolls to make. we all make one off our own.

It was al lot of fun to make her!

Christmas Swap Inchie ornaments

First!!! Sorry for the bad quality of the pictures, one to bright and the other to dark.

A couple of months ago I signed up for the Christmas Swap Inchie ornaments. But time flies and last friday I received an e-mail from Michelle from Quilting Bloggers to remind me of sending my inchies to my partner. Oeps I didn't do anything.......so last sunday I started to work on the inchie ornaments. Luckily it wasn't a lot of work, but it was a lot of fun to make them and today I send them away to Australia, to my partner for this Swap.

Last sunday I finished the first block of the table runner for Christmas.
And even for the better, before you know it, it is Christmas.

Inspiration....

Last friday at my work, at the quiltshop, there was an Inspiration morning. The theme was magic numbers. A friend of mine maked a beautiful pillowcase of nice christmas fabrics, making use of the technique with magic numbers.

She was laying out her sewed blocks and we looked toghether what was a nice way of stitching them together. I came up whit the idea of laying them in a way so they become smooth lines.

My friend Toos was verry happy with this idea an another course member Ineke noticed that a table runner was also a nice design when you put three pillowcases toghether.

I immediatly was very excited about this idea, and the same evening I designed the table runner and figured out how much fabric I will need for the table runner and two pillowcases.The next day, when I was at work again, I bought the fabric.

I have been painting

For two weeks ago I have been painting with two friends of me. We have painted that day with acryllic paint onto aquarelle paper. First I made the background ( with the use of an old credit or phone card), you can see the original colour in the middle of the mandala. Then I draw the mandala with the five pointed star and the flowers and fill them in with another colour of paint. I gave the mandala some accents with a golden marker, and I added some more red paint surrounding the mandala.
I was so nice and fun to do!!
I hope to do it again soon.

Above a detail of the mysterie quilt I finished last week. And beneath the total quilt top.
It is a design made by Francoise of the Quilterij in Den Bosch. A project wich I have been working on for a year, every month a piece of the design, and not knowing what the result is going to be.

But I find the result wonderful, I am very content with it. Now the quilting work is waiting to be done. I think another year for the quilting.

Friendship bag Swap

3 weeks ago I sent my friendship bag for the Swap to the States to Deborah Thomas.

Last week she e-mailed me that she had recieved her package and she was so happy with the bag I sent to her.

In the picture you can see what I have made. A little bag in dutch fabrics and a little pin cushion from the same fabrics. In the bag I put 3 of the same fabrics, a piece of ribbon ans a fitting post card in the same colours.

Good ol summertime mini quilt Swap.

I am done. My mini quilt for the good ol summertime swap is finished. I hope my partner in Portugal likes it.

I really enjoyed it, to make this quilt. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun to do!!!!

Finally, my computer is working all right again!!!!

On the photo above you can see the oh soo cute and wonderful mini quilt that I received from Angela Huddart from England. I was her partner in the Good ol summer mini quilt Swap.

She choose her fabrics very nicely and it is made whit such a detailed precission and accuratly.

My mini quilt for the swap is almost ready, today I gon on quilting on my machine to finish it.

Later this week I will show you the photo with the result. I hope my partner in Portugal will like it to, just as much as I like mine received quilt.

But it has been a while since I have published a message.

The computer in our home is nearly exploded. And now whe have a spare computer from some one else, but I still have to find out how to get the photo's on this computer.



When all is working again, I will show you lots of photo's and the story behind the pictures.

The first block of Tail Feathers is finished

Last week I finished the first block of the BOM Tail Feathers. What a nice thing to do, I can't hardly wait until the next block. But the next block is just coming in september, so I have to wait 2 more weeks.

It is al so fun to do!

Last week I have been on a city trip to Amsterdam. We like to watch the beautiful front walls of the houses. But a nice shop is also welcome. So I went to the English Bookstore en found this nice little boek. The size of the book is ca. 6 x 7 cm, and it contains a piece of ribbon as bookmarker with a tiny thimble on the end. And this only for the price off...........1 euro.

Inside the book are some nice pieces of text and some pictures. See the photo above.

BOM "TAIL FEATHERS"

Today I received mij first part of the BOM , I signed in for.

It is a block of the month quilt designed by Natalie Lymer from Cinderberry Stitches from Australia.

On the photo you can see what was in the package. One verry nice jelly role from Moda, some background fabric for the stitching, 2 fabrics for the applique and some DMC thread also for the applique and stitchery.

I'm so excited, I want to start right now. But first I start to read the pattern.

First preview

of my quilt, that I'm making for the "In the good ol' summertime" mini quilt swap.

I'm making it with Kaffe Fasset fabrics, the competences I'm ussing are applique and stitchery.

It must be ready for the end of september, so I have 2 more months but also a lot of stitching to go.

For the first time..

Today, I will start to write my blog in English. I sure hope you can read it all, because my English is not so great. But I will give it a try.

Nog wat teken en kleurwerk.

Van de week weer een mandala af gemaakt, dit keer een mandala met een platonische vorm als uitgangspunt "de tetraeder". De symbolen die er omheen getekend zijn, hebben voor mij een speciale betekenis. Ben inmiddels met de 2e platonische vorm bezig de "hexaeder" .

Verder ben ik druk geweest met het inhalen van mijn huiswerk voor de mysterie quilt.

Ben nog niet helemaal bij, maar dit gaat zeker lukken voor onze volgende bijeenkomst op 2 juli a.s.

Even wat anders dan mijn quiltwerkjes, is het mandala tekenen. Ben momenteel bezig met het geven van een chakra cursus, ik probeer zelf ook de chakra's mee te maken en in te kleuren, ik loop wel wat achter, maar het begin is er. Op de foto boven zie je het centrum van de basis chakra en de foto hieronder een lotusbloem die 4 keer aan de rand van de mandala is getekend.

Als de hele basis chakra straks klaar is volgt er nog wel een foto van het totale plaatje.

Inmiddels zijn de cursisten al met de 3e chakra bezig. Mijn 2e en 3e zijn ook nog in een pril beginstadium. Van de week meer foto's van deze twee.

ik schaam me diep!

Ohoh wat een tijd geleden, dit was echter niet de bedoeling, maar het valt nog niet mee om een blog bij te houden en iedere keer weer iets leuks en interessant te vinden om te plaatsen.

Maar ik heb niet stil gezeten. Afgelopen zaterdag in de winkel (Quilterij) stofjes en aurifill garen gekocht voor het patroontje van Cinderberry stitches "three sisters". Wilde eerst een foto plaatsen van mijn aankopen, maar ben zaterdag avond gelijk begonnen met borduren.

En ik was niet meer te stoppen, het resultaat werd zo leuk. Wat een ideaal garen van aurifill om mee te borduren. En het resultaat.......

Stitchery van Cinderberry Stitches

Eindelijk weer een berichtje om mijn blog. Heeft even geduurd, maar lekker bezig met allerlei andere dingen. 's avonds druk in de weer met borduren van patroontjes van Cinderberry stitches. Hier alvast 1 resultaat, 2 leuke klein hangertjes voor aan je schaar. Zitten ze bij het gebruik in de weg, dan haal je ze er simpelweg door de handige bevestiging af.

Ben nu bezig met het bijbehorende speldenkussen en naaldenboekje. Dit wordt nummer 4 van de verzameling.

Tadada........

Hier is dan de 1e quilt door mijn hand ontworpen.
Best wel spannend om hem op de blog te zetten.
Het formaat is ca. 75 x 90 cm. Nog drie van de vier hoekje van de quilt met een geappliceerd vogelhuisje, versierd met leuke knoopjes.

Heb je dat schattige kleine slakje gezien?

Nu nog het geheel quilten en klaar ben ik weer! Nou ja, klaar ben ik weer.... het zal toch nog wel wat tijd in beslag gaan nemen voordat dit klusje geklaard is.

Vandaag namelijk naar de Europeesche Quilt kampioenschappen in Veldhoven geweest, en natuurlijk weer het nodige aangeschaft. Alsof ik nog niets in de kast had liggen!

Ik heb een patroon met hele mooie frisse lente stofjes gekocht om een leuke grote tas te maken.

Verder een pakketje voor een Japans buideltje.

En jaja, ik heb ze in huis, 3 patronen van Cinderberry stitches. Ze zijn ohhhh zooooo leuk. Wil eigelijk meteen eraan gaan beginnen. Maar ik hou me in.

En nog een patroontje van een rond tasje gemaakt van log cabin blokjes. Ook er leuk om restjes bij te gaan gebruiken.

Verder genoten van al het moois er te zien was. Fantastische quilt en leuke winkeltjes.

En mijn dank aan de meiden met wie ik op pad was. Het was een leuke dag voor herhaling vatbaar.
